Community Mobile Support
Mobile Support Workers are dispatched when Crisis Line Communicators feel it is appropriate and necessary. They respond in-person, facilitate effective problem solving and decision making, and often refer individuals to resources for follow-up within the community.
When responding to a crisis, the Mobile Support Worker may visit the individual in their home or other location, or accompany the individual to hospital for further professional consultation.
Mobile support is provided by professionals who live in the community. In Atikokan, Fort Frances, Kenora, Red Lake, Sioux Lookout and their surrounding areas, Mobile Support Workers are available Monday – Friday, 5 pm to 8 am, and on a 24-hour basis on weekends. In Dryden, community mobile support is available Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, 5 pm to 8 am, and on a 24-hour basis on weekends.
